Paulit-ulit, paikut-ikot – karma, kasaysayan, tradsyon, kapalaran. Kunsabagay, mayroong Shake, Rattle and Roll 14.

Paranormal Activity 4
Direksyon nina Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman

It’s largely the same gimmick: Night #1, Night #2, etc. Pero may magandang build-up sa ending. So, at least, the series is consistent. Hindi pa tapos ang kwento kasi may Paranormal Activity 5 next year. Takutan ulit.

Rigodon
Direksyon ni Erik Matti
R18 and R16 versions

Not to be confused with Sari Lluch Dalena and Keith Sicat’s 2005 drama about Fil-Ams in New York, Rigodon is being marketed as ‘the return of sexy’ in Pinoy cinemas. It’s also marketed as a thriller. Well it is racy sometimes, but definitely not a thriller.

Mahusay sina Concepcion at Eigenmann dito. So I do hope these two female actors get more projects after this film.

Unfortunately, the weakest link in Rigodon is the actor who plays the character that links the entire story thread together. It’s a story that deals with three unfulfilled persons and not about one character. Uy has no screen gravitas to match the good performances of either Concepcion or Eigenmann. Bumabagsak ang mga eksena.

Again, credit to the director for being able to balance everything out and coming up with a decent story despite the limitations. We’ve had Scorpio Nights 2, Prosti and Dos Ekis from Matti before, but it’s up in the air if we’re to get more of the same.
